| Sally Bjornsen is a
single girl turned happy wife and stepmother. Five years ago she took
the plunge, said goodbye to her carefree single life and became a full-fledged
stepmother, wife and collaborative co-mamma.
A marketing veteran, Bjornsen has been thinking and writing about women
for several years. She started her marketing career at NIKE, Inc.
in the mid 80s when she, along with ten other women, launched SIDE
1 a women's only fitness brand. Bjornsen later moved to Seattle
and opened VOICE an advertising agency specializing in
marketing to women. VOICE was a big success drawing clients such as Ann
Taylor, Women's World Cup Soccer, SIDI
Bicycle Shoes, Sierra Designs, Microsoft,
KIBU.com (a website aimed at teenage girls), and other
local clients. After several years in the advertising agency business
and four years into her marriage, Bjornsen and her husband Mark decided
to have their own child. Now she is a happy stepmother and bio mom as
well as a commercial artist representative and writer.
Bjornsen has a degree in liberal arts from Oregon State University
and has completed the writing certificate program at the University
of Wasington. She writes both nonfiction
and fiction pieces and has been published in various business trade journals.
Along with writing, Bjornsen has also been a stepmother guest expert on
the ABC Radio Network's nationally broadcast "Satellite
Sisters." Bjornsen lives in Seattle with her husband Mark,
their son and her two stepsons.
