First off- as my son has pointed out – Shopping is good exercise. The walking, the trying on, the chasing 3 bad boys around the store… Also good for math skills when figuring out sale prices & total damage before making said purchase. Good exercise for wallet too!

2nd of all, we need to keep the economy going. Jobs are on the line. Too many retailers are going out of business. When stores go bankrupt, we all pay the bill!

I have gotten to be a good sale shopper & shop responsibly. We also clean our closets and donate to Good Will. Which will be sorely needed for the people who lose their jobs or businesses over this stupid diet!!!

Diet be damned! I’ll show them Consumer Confidence!

P.S. Perhaps you should amend this diet to just boycott imported clothing. It would be an equally challenging task to just buy American-made goods.

I also thought I might be able to help out with a great resource – Tiffany Wendel (www.tiffanywendel.com). She is a really great stylist in Seattle that helped me purge my closet last year and suggested tons of outfits using existing clothes. I’m thinking you ladies might be able to use her help at some point in this very, very brave endeavor. I’m just glad my husband never found out about it before it started.
